Can someone please remind me to never, ever decide to revamp a perfectly good chapter right before I plan on posting it? Please?

It's time

momdaegmorgan: (writing) stop putting things off just because of my insane fear that I'm going to jinx us somehow.

The closing date has been moved from the 15th to the 20th (our loan officer needed a little more time to get everything in order), which gives me a little over two weeks to get as much cleaning and packing done as I can. I'm still a little nervous about doing it because one of the requirements for our loan is that the house is appraised at or less then the offer we made (which I'm pretty sure will work out fine since the place has to worth at least the $75,000 we're going to be paying) and that there's no visible damage to the home. With that leak from a few weeks ago I'm concerned there may be some problems with the second requirement. If there is it doesn't mean that we won't get the house, just that we'll have to ask the sellers to fix the problems and probably renegotiate the price.

Since I keep being told to just start packing, that's what I'm going to do. I'll get both bathrooms and the two hall closets cleaned and packed as much as possible today. There isn't a lot of things that I can pack in those areas but they definitely need a thorough cleaning (and even though they'll need a once over before we move out I'd rather get the major bits done ahead of time). Tomorrow I'm going to get my bedroom done since we'll be using it as storage for the boxes as we get them filled. After that I'll probably start work on the basement which is going to be the biggest project of them all.

I'm feeling fairly confident at this point that everything will go well. The nerves are still there and probably will be until we actually move in. But at the same time I'm extremely excited to finally be buying our very own home and I've already been looking at how I want to redecorate! I seriously need to get my newest story complete before we start moving though otherwise I doubt it'll get done before fall!

And frankly I'm amazed it took as short of a time as it did.
I did an hour of writing Monday night after the kids went to bed. Since “Pick a Star” is, other then my Stargate stories, the most over due of all my fics I decided to work on that. Unfortunately, as I expected, it didn’t turn out too well.
Yesterday, however I started on a sequel to “Mrs. Jones” and was pleasantly surprised at how well it went. It wasn’t my best writing but it was far better then anything else I’ve managed to put to paper lately. I think it only took me an hour or two to write and then I sent it off to my beta.
That wasn’t the end though… I then started on the sequel to the sequel (sorry, neither of them have title’s yet) and managed to get out another 2-1/2 to 3 pages done in that. I probably would’ve written even more but it was getting late and I had to work this morning. So after much nagging from Jeff I finally forced myself to turn off the computer and crawl into bed. My brain refused to shut down though and I laid there for who knows how long continuing the story in my mind.
I wish I could take like three days off of life and just write. No kids, no work, no cleaning…nothing but me and the computer and the happy little plot bunnies. And to think, just two days ago I figured I’d never write anything worth reading again. :P

I have the world's largest case of writer's block. Its been plaguing me since early December or thereabouts. I wrote two fics early on that month ("Tidings" and "Mrs. Jones") but have been unable to dredge anything up and onto paper ever since. I have ideas aplenty -- there's no end to those -- but can I turn those ideas into something that makes any amount of sense and would be interesting to read? No, of course not.
Sad thing is I just made a few writing-related purchases. Most of them didn't make too big of a dent in my wallet (new notebooks and a pen) but one cost me over a hundred dollars with tax. It wasn't even a necessity, just something that will make the process a little easier on me. But I can't even use it!
I'm really hoping that once Jeff gets me season two of DW on DVD it'll help a little bit. At least then I'll know that I'm probably getting the speech and mannerisms down right. Maybe we should start doing our writing nights again...maybe that will help too.
