Been trying to curb my DW obsession a bit. I know, I know it's an awful thought but...well...not everyone who lives (or practically lives) with me thinks it's better then life and stuff (I want your icon

uliamos!) like I do.

 

So I ah, posted the movie meme thing trying to steer my one-track mind away from all that is good and right but no one's made any guesses yet (yes, it's only been 24 hours but I'm an impatient kind of a gal) so I stole this new one from someone else on livejournal.

1. When did you start watching?
The first time was back when I was a kid. Not sure when exactly but I know I was young and I was up waaay past my bedtime watching PBS (naughty me!). I don't even remember what Doctor was on, just that I loved the show (much to my parents' chagrin).
The second time was during season two after much nagging from my husband and kids. *I* didn't want to watch. *I* figured it was just going to be some horrible rip-off of the original. *They* wouldn't leave me alone though and now I'm hooked (see Jeff, can't blame anyone but yourself!).

2. What was your first episode?
The Girl in the Fireplace

3. Which episodes have you seen?
All of the new ones, at least three times each (had to spread the addiction to a couple of friends).

3a. Favourite?
Only one? Damn...um...hmm...Blink?  No, wait...The Christmas Invasion? No...Love and Monsters!  Maybe not...oh, nevermind!  I can't choose.

4. Are your friends/family interested in the show?
Well, obviously (if you've been reading since the start of this meme) my husband and kids. Then there's my friend and her boyfriend, my other friend and his girlfriend, another couple we know, everyone I've befriended online recently and...actually that's it for now. Just wait though and I'll find someone else that I can hook.

5. Which Doctor is your favourite?
Ten, no contest. I like all of 'em though but I love ten.

6. Which Doctor is your least favourite?
None of them. They are all great in their own ways and each and every one of them brought something new and interesting to the character.

7. Which TV companion is your favourite?
Rose, once again no contest. I love all the recent ones (though there was that little thing about Martha, but I'm over it now). I absolutely adore Sarah Jane but Rose is my companion.

8. Which TV companion is your least favourite?
What's-his-face...um...bad bloke, left Rose to die by Dalek, had implant put in his head for his own personal gain. Why can't I remember his name?
Oh yea...Adam. Can't stand him one bit.

I'm a loyal Torchwood fan and plan on giving the Sarah Jane Adventures a try once the Sci-fi channel starts playing them (my kids can't wait!).

Well since I only watch Torchwood right now then that would have to be my favorite. I reserve the right to change or be unable to make up my mind once I start watching SJA.

Ok...but I will warn you in advance, I am at the point in this fic right now that I think it sucks completely and there is no point in continuing it:

Four months have passed since Rose Tyler found herself back in the one place she longed to be more then anywhere else. Sixteen weeks since she won the fight to return to her proper universe…the Doctor’s universe. The happy reunion has been scratched however and instead she finds herself a member of the Torchwood team. Fighting the good fight against forces that would threaten this world isn’t the same though; not when you’re grounded to Earth instead of traveling amongst the stars with the man you love.

No but I'd love to have the time to learn how.

I'd love to see more of them. Time Crash was cool and I can only imagine how insanely funny it would be if Ten and Nine were in an episode together.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.

13. Have you watched other TV shows exclusively because of the presence of Doctor Who actors?
Ah...yea. :)
Blackpool, Casanova, Secret Smile, & Recovery because of DT. I tried Secret Diary of a Call Girl for BP but couldn't get into it. My husband watches Moonlight with SM and I've caught bits here and there of it (looks good but I just don't have the time to get into another show right now).

I wish!

14a. Travelled to any filming locations?
No but that'll hopefully change next October (note to self: remember to discuss Cardiff or bust).

That Rose and the Doctor should get married and have lots of Time Tots.

The Doctor with anyone but Rose. I'm pig-headed I know...and just a teeny bit obsessive (did I mention that yet?).

For complete disclosure: I started watching Moonlight because they took Blood Ties off the air {*sadmonkey* :( }, not because SM was in it. Jen clued me in to that bit after I'd already started watching the show, and then I was "Oh, really? Er, ok." because I'm very bad at recalling actors and honestly don't really care. I'm not an "actor fan" -- I couldn't care who is in something (and no, that's not a pun, but it could be).

I did not say nor did I mean to imply that *you* watch Moonlight because of SM. I was merely pointing out that I had caught glimpses of the show now and then because you watch it.
Silly, paranoid man. No one's going to think you're a DW fanboy because you watch or watched something that has or had an actor or actress in it that is or was in DW. :P
