...to stop putting things off just because of my insane fear that I'm going to jinx us somehow.
The closing date has been moved from the 15th to the 20th (our loan officer needed a little more time to get everything in order), which gives me a little over two weeks to get as much cleaning and packing done as I can. I'm still a little nervous about doing it because one of the requirements for our loan is that the house is appraised at or less then the offer we made (which I'm pretty sure will work out fine since the place has to worth at least the $75,000 we're going to be paying) and that there's no visible damage to the home. With that leak from a few weeks ago I'm concerned there may be some problems with the second requirement. If there is it doesn't mean that we won't get the house, just that we'll have to ask the sellers to fix the problems and probably renegotiate the price.
Since I keep being told to just start packing, that's what I'm going to do. I'll get both bathrooms and the two hall closets cleaned and packed as much as possible today. There isn't a lot of things that I can pack in those areas but they definitely need a thorough cleaning (and even though they'll need a once over before we move out I'd rather get the major bits done ahead of time). Tomorrow I'm going to get my bedroom done since we'll be using it as storage for the boxes as we get them filled. After that I'll probably start work on the basement which is going to be the biggest project of them all.
I'm feeling fairly confident at this point that everything will go well. The nerves are still there and probably will be until we actually move in. But at the same time I'm extremely excited to finally be buying our very own home and I've already been looking at how I want to redecorate! I seriously need to get my newest story complete before we start moving though otherwise I doubt it'll get done before fall!
